Introduction
Pho is probably the most popular Vietnamese dish in the world - and for a good reason! Between the extremely delicious broth and the chewy noodles, plus all of the other toppings and ingredients, weve yet to meet a person who doesnt love pho. There may be one or two, but theyre probably more like aliens because this Vietnamese dish contains all the yumminess of the world in a single bowl. And because we know you like it as much as we do, we wanted to share our favorite recipes with you.
What the Pho? is a collection of delicious recipes we picked up on our last trip to Vietnam when some of the locals invited us into their homes for lunch and dinner. With their permission and approval, weve gone ahead and made our own modifications to some of these in order to enhance the flavor even more and make them more accessible in terms of the ingredients that are available elsewhere in the world. If youre up for it, were excited for you to try them!
While youve been reading this, weve already gone ahead and boiled some water for the noodles. Once theyre done, well set them aside so we can get working on the broth. As long as we work together on this, we reckon well be done in about 2 hours, so lets get started! Weve got chicken, beef, coconut, oxtail, fish sauce, and even basil-based broths, so pick one, and lets get cooking. Good luck!
