Tater Tot Casserole Tips
Heres the main question of this entire e-cookbook: Do you like your tots crispy or soft? Most of the recipes in this e-cookbook call for putting the evaporated milk and soups on TOP of the tots. It makes for a great meat and potatoes meal in most cases. If you prefer your tots crispy, just put the soups/milk on the bottom, top with tots, then cheese, then bake! Here are some more tips:
When a recipe calls for ground beef, feel free to use ground turkey instead.
White meat ground turkey is better if youre watching your health or weight.
I have had great luck in making a couple of these recipes ahead of time and putting them in the freezer. Just take one out in the morning and it should be thawed enough to pop in the oven about an hour before dinner.
If you dont want to make the usual 9 x 13 pan size, feel free to cut the recipe in half.
Add any veggie you like to any of the recipes or serve with something on the side like carrot sticks, applesauce, canned or fresh fruit, salad, Jell-O with fruit in it, or canned, frozen or fresh veggies
Feel free to substitute any other cream of soup if you prefer another kind.
If you dig something like onions or peppers, add them by all means! Onions make me toot, so I leave them out.
