When the book arrived, I dove right in, curious to see if Tosca would have the answer to my never-ending quest to lose weight (10 extra pounds that I swear have been with me since high school). The Seedlings of a Personal Revolution
IT MIGHT BE EASY FOR YOU TO THINK that Ive always been a great athlete or had a particular passion for sportsnatural abilities that have made my road to a fabulous fifty more attainable. Thats far from the truth. My childhood was probably a lot like most kids back thenI was active, carefree and happy. My days were spent swimming, tooling around on a bicycle, playing soccer with friends or simply adventuring at my familys cottage.
I did fairly well in school, which ultimately led me to university. In terms of beauty, Id never thought of myself as anything but average. Arriving at university on that first brilliant day of classes in September 1977, a group of senior boys held up numbered flash cards as freshman girls walked down the streets toward campus. They sat on rooftops and balconies flashing numbers, rating our looks from 1 to 10. I got a 10 but was too clueless to realize what that meant. When my sister filled me in, it was a complete surprise for this tall, skinny girl, standing 5' 8" and weighing 127 pounds, wearing my favorite jeans and a Disney sweatshirt, without a care in the world.
