Foreword

I was honored to be asked to write the foreword for this book: So You Want to Start a Blog: A Step-by-Step Guide to Starting a Fun and Profitable Blog. You see, Ive been a blogger for six years now and have actually created over 1,800 blog posts. Blogging is my number one online marketing strategy that has helped me go from being dead broke and in personal foreclosure to building a multimillion-dollar a year business from home.

I believe that blogging is not only the best marketing mechanism that exists on the planet, but I also believe its becoming, if its not already, the most trusted way to get a message out to the world.

What you have in your hands here is a way for you to build a business from home with very little overhead, very little money output, and just following a few sets of rules that will help you build an audience, perhaps become an authority, and attract the perfect people to you.

I believe that starting a blog is one of the smartest things you can ever do to build an audience, make extra money, and funnel your energy into whatever you are passionate about. There are bloggers for just about every niche or interest nowadays, and this trend will only continue.

The fact that you have this book it means that youre probably looking for ways to make some extra cash or to spread the word about something youre passionate about. You can make these things happen with a blog. There are some fundamental things that I would suggest to you.

Number one: Understand who you are wanting to attract and what is valuable to them. You can be educational or entertaining, but knowing who you would like to attract to you is critical.

Number two: Be consistent. The people we want to attract to us are home business owners, entrepreneurs, and those wanting to learn online marketing strategies to build their business. We know they hunt for information on a daily basis, so we provide value daily via our blog, our podcast, and other social media avenues.

Number three: Have fun with it! Young people are told all the time to do what makes sense or to go into careers that are in high demand. We say that life is meant to be ENJOYED not ENDURED and to run after something worth catching. Pick something to blog about that you actually like to talk about, and the readers you attract will blow your mind.

Blogging has been the absolute No. 1 marketing key for our business to help us get out of debt, out of foreclosure, out of being dead broke, and to building a massive audience. We now have an email list of over 160,000 people that generates a lot of money, and we have a lot of fun doing it.

Congratulations on picking up this book. Im sure youll get some massive value out of it. All I hope for you is that you take action, move forward, and start blogging about the things that youre excited and fired up about. I believe the world needs more fired up, excited people, and I hope that thats you.

Introduction

Y oure here because you want to a start a blog. It can be intimidating when you see what else is out there how will I ever be as fashion-savvy as Tavi Gevinson? How could I ever be as quirky-cool as Zoella? These teens have taken a passion and have transformed them into well, into empires.
