What many people arent aware of is that making your own homemade donuts is much easier than you think. There are no special tools or special ingredients that you need to pull these treats off like most bakeries around you. All you need is a little patience, some oil, an oven and a willingness to learn.

In a large bowl add in the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, bakers style baking powder, dash of salt, ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir well to mix. 2. Use a small bowl and add in the buttermilk, large egg, melted butter and pure vanilla. Stir well to mix and pour into the dry ingredients. 3. 3.

Pour the batter evenly into a large donut pan that has been greased. 4. Place into the oven to bake for 11 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees or until the donuts are completely baked through. Remove and set aside to cool slightly. 5. Brush both sides of the warm donuts with melted butter.

Dip in the cinnamon and sugar mixture until coated on all sides. Serve.

Makes: 6 Servings Total Prep Time: 25 Minutes Ingredients for the crumb topping: cup of butter, unsalted and melted cup of brown sugar, light and packed 1 cup of flour, all-purpose tsp. of bakers style baking powder tsp. of salt cup of sugar, granulated 1 egg, large 1 tbsp. of butter, unsalted cup of milk, whole 1 tsp. of pure vanilla Ingredients for the glaze: cup of confectioners sugar tbsp. of milk, whole

Heat up the oven to 325 degrees. While the oven is heating up grease a large donut pan with cooking spray. 2. Then prepare the crumb topping. To do this use a medium bowl and add in the melted butter, light brown sugar, all-purpose flour and cinnamon. Stir well until coarse in consistency.

Set this mixture aside. 3. Next use a medium bowl and add in the all-purpose flour, bakers style baking powder and dash of salt. Stir well to mix and set aside. 4. Use a large bowl of a stand mixer and add in the granulated sugar, large egg and melted butter.

Add in the whole milk and pure vanilla. Beat on the lowest setting until mixed. Add this mixture into the flour mixture. 5. Fill the greased doughnut cups of the way full with the donut batter. 6. 6.

Place into the oven to bake for 15 to 16 minutes or until the donuts are light gold. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Transfer the donuts onto a wire rack to cool slightly. 7. While the donuts are cooling, make the glaze. To do this add the confectioners sugar and whole milk into a small bowl.

Whisk until smooth in consistency. 8. Gently drizzle the glaze over the donuts and serve.
