Jessica Griffin, PsyD, is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist and professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where she has been a faculty member since 2006. Dr. Griffin is a nationally recognized expert in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), trauma, and relationships, having trained and provided consultation for thousands of clinicians across the United States. She is the executive director of Lifeline for Kids and the Resilience Through Relationships Center. Under her direction, these programs have trained more than one hundred thousand professionals in trauma-informed care and promoting resilient relationships. She has numerous peer-reviewed publications and is a coauthor on a newly released book by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Childhood Trauma and Resilience: A Practical Guide, the first textbook on childhood trauma and resilience for physicians. Dr. Griffin has been featured on NPR, BBC, U.S. News and World Report, Fox News, the Insider, Sirius XM Doctor Radio, People, Readers Digest, iHeartRadio, the New York Post, Medscape, the Daily Mail, and hundreds of other news and media outlets. She has served as an expert and consultant on several television docuseries about relationships, marriage, and divorce on A&Es Lifetime television network, including Seven Year Switch, Married at First Sight, Honeymoon Island, and Happily Ever After. She has a private consulting and coaching business and is the CEO and co-creator of Love Builder, a relationship company that provides educational online courses to couples, singles, and parents. Dr. Griffin resides in Massachusetts with the loves of her life: her husband, Jon; three children, Carter, Delaney, and Jack; and their two dogs.
Pepper Schwartz, PhD, is a highly acclaimed sociologist who has authored or coauthored more than twenty-five books on intimate relationships, including two New York Times best-selling books, The Normal Bar: The Surprising Secrets of Happy Couples and, much earlier, Ten Talks Parents Must Have with Kids about Sex and Character. Her most recent book, Snap Strategies: 40 Fast Fixes for Common Relationship Pitfalls, was picked as one of AARPs honored books. Dr. Schwartz is past president of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexualities. She has a named fellowship for her work at the University of Washington and an endowed Pepper Schwartz Professorship on Sexuality and Aging at the University of Minnesota.
