Cantonese Surf & Turf

A traditional Chinese hot pot seafood recipe that the seafood lovers will not be able to resist!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Servings:

Ingredients:

  • 8-ounces of sea bass, cut into fillets
  • 12-ounces of prawns, shelled and cut into halves
  • 8 scallops, large
  • 12-ounces of celery, Chinese style and thinly sliced
  • 8-ounces of steak, thinly sliced
  • 8 cups of beef stock
  • 8-ounces of Egg noodles, drained
  • 2 blocks of tofu, sliced into quarters
  • cup of watercress, washed and trimmed
  • cup of Napa cabbage, roughly chopped

For Dipping Sauce:

  • chili paste
  • sesame oil
  • soy sauce
  • 6 large eggs, beaten

Directions:

1. Place all of your ingredients (except for stock) in small individual dishes.

2. Next, place your broth in a large-sized hot pot in the middle of your dinner table.

3. Next, arrange the dishes around the broth on your table. Allow your dinner guests to cook the ingredients in the broth to their liking and enjoy!

Classic Duck Dumpling Stuffed Hot Pot

Dumplings are a favorite food with Chinese people, and once you get a taste of this dumpling recipe you will not be able to get enough of them either!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Servings:

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups vegetable stock
  • 16-ounces of duck breasts, thinly sliced
  • cup of buckwheat flour
  • 4 stalks of green onions, finely sliced
  • cup of light soy sauce
  • cup of rice wine
  • 4 teaspoons of sesame oil
  • cup of spinach, roughly torn
  • 4-ounces of egg noodles, drained
  • cup Napa cabbage, roughly chopped

For the Dumplings:

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon of rice wine
  • teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • cup of green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of Buckwheat flour
  • 12-ounces of duck breast, skinless, boneless and chopped into small pieces

Directions:

1. Begin by preparing your dumplings. Combine all of your ingredients for your dumplings in a food processor. Pulse until you have reached a coarse consistency. Transfer to a bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Set aside for later use.

2. Take your duck breast and roll them in your flour one piece at a time. Set aside for later use.

3. Prepare your broth by combining the duck breast, cup of flour and four cups of vegetable stock. Place over high heat.

4. Once your hot pot mixture is boiling, reduce heat to low and add your dumplings one at a time. Continue to simmer your mixture for an additional 3 minutes.

5. Add in the pepper, beaten egg and rice wine and cover. Allow simmering for 5 minutes.

6. Add your floured duck slices to the pot and continue to simmer for another 3 minutes.

7. Remove from heat and serve with your oil and enjoy it!

Yunnan Style Chicken

Yunnan cuisine focuses on natural tastes rather than fake tastesif that is what you seek, then try this Yunnan style chicken recipe!

Prep Time: 8 minutes

Cooking Time: 17 minutes

Servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of rice wine
  • 5 cups of chicken stock
  • 16-ounces chicken breast, thinly sliced,
  • boneless and skinless
  • dash of chili oil
  • cup of baby Bok Choy, roughly chopped
  • 3-ounces Chinese style ham, thinly sliced
  • teaspoon of sea salt to taste
  • 1 chunk of ginger, peeled and finely sliced

Directions:

1. Begin by preparing your stock in a hot pot and combine the chicken stock, rice wine, ginger, and salt. Bring your hot pot mixture to a boil, then reduce to low heat. Continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes then remove from heat.

2. Strain your stock and transfer to your hot pot.

3. Next, place your remaining ingredients around your broth on your table. Allow your guests to cook the ingredients in you to their satisfaction and enjoy!

Cantonese Hot Pot

Yummy seafood inspired hot pot that is sure to satisfy everyone!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Servings:

Ingredients:

  • 8-ounces sea bass, fresh-cut into fillets
  • 12-ounces Napa cabbage, roughly chopped
  • 8 cups of vegetable stock
  • 12-ounces egg noodles, drained
  • 2 blocks of firm tofu, cut into quarters
  • cup of watercress, washed and trimmed
  • 12-ounces celery, fresh and finely sliced
  • 8-pieces of large scallops
  • 12-ounces of prawns, large in size, fresh, shelled and cut in halves

For Your Dipping Sauce:

  • Chinese chili sauce
  • sesame oil
  • soy sauce
  • 4 large eggs

Directions:

1. Arrange your sea bass, prawns, scallops, celery, cabbage, watercress, tofu, and egg noodles on a large plate.

2. Add your dipping sauce ingredients in small bowls.

3. Arrange all of your ingredients around your broth in the middle of your table. Allow guests to cook the ingredients in the broth to their satisfaction and enjoy!

Crab Packed Hot Pot
