Looking for a recipe that you can prepare the morning after an overnight camping adventure in the woods? This one is a wonderful choice for that. Its great for grilling in an outdoor fire. The woodsy, smoky flavor will help enhance the simplicity of the toppings that goes with the bread. So you get an amazing toast breakfast alright, against a scenic background. What a treat!

Ingredients:

  • 6 pcs country bread slices, sliced 1inch-thick
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 tbsp dried herbs mix
  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 pc Roma tomato, halved

Instructions:

1. Preheat the grill on medium.

2. Sprinkle a generous amount of olive oil on both sides of the bread, then, grill until about lightly charred, 2 minutes total.

3. Rub the toasts with peeled garlic, then, on the cut side of the tomato.

4. Arrange toasts in a platter and sprinkle with dried herbs.

5. Serve immediately.

Sourdough bread is the best choice for this particular toast dish because it holds up well enough to the deliciously rich, herb-y topping.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs thick sourdough slices
  • 1 cups quark cheese
  • 1 tbsp Parmesan, grated
  • pc cucumber, peeled, halved, seeded, and sliced
  • 2 tbsp basil leaves, shredded to make 2 tbsp
  • 2 tbsp chives, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp cider vinegar
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Mix together quark cheese with Parmesan, basil, chives, and garlic. Set aside at room temperature for about 10 minutes.

2. In another bowl, toss cucumbers with olive oil and cider vinegar. Sprinkle with some salt and pepper and stir to blend.

3. Meanwhile, heat a nonstick pan on medium fire and toast the sourdough slices until lightly browned.

4. Arrange toasts in a platter, spread with the cheese mix and top with the cucumber salad.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pcs sourdough bread slices
  • lb. skinny asparagus spears
  • 4 pcs eggs
  • 2oz Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 2oz bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 tbsp half-and-half
  • 3 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Preheat the broiler

2. Arrange asparagus spears in a baking dish on a single layer, drizzle generously with oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

3. Broil asparagus until crisp tender, about 7 minutes. Set aside.

4. Heat a nonstick pan over medium-low and toast the bread slices until lightly browned. Spread with butter on both sides and set aside.

5. Whisk together eggs and half-and-half and season with some salt.

6. Melt the remaining butter in a nonstick pan and fry the eggs mixture until about set, stirring gently.
