To Steve,
my friend and partner,
and the reason I have come to treasure manhood
W HAT G AIN
What gain to womankind
When walks a man on earth
Who bears the image of his Maker
As you do.
What grace to children born,
When sheltered neath your god-like wings,
And tempered, yet neer abandoned,
Then, pinioned in their fledgling flights,
Are wooed and lifted upward
Towards Him, their heavenly Father.
What joy to this frail heart
When bound by your true love,
And knitted soul to soul,
Is strangely Godward kindled,
And gently drawn and welded
To Him, my souls first Love.
What grace upon this world,
When guarded oer its tower and bridge,
And by your princely walk
Is marked with every step,
And called to lift its eyes and gaze
On Him, their King of kings.
What gain to this rare man,
What joy to him ten-fold
Who bears the image of his Maker
As you do.

Ive seen plenty of interviews on Oprah and Larry King Live. But I was recently privy to an interview that will never make it to network televisioneven though it should.
In fact this interview happened entirely by accident.
It began as a conversation. And like many good conversations in our home, it evolved in my kitchen right after dinner. The guys were gathered around, watching me clean up as usual. But thats fine. Our best conversations have happened in just this way. I was cleaningand listening and talking. The guys were just talking. (ADD people cant do two things at once.)
