L ISA SCOTTOLINE WAS BORN on July 1955 in Pennsylvania. She obtained a Bachelors degree in English along with law from the University of Pennsylvania.

Upon her graduation from college, Scottoline served in the legal world for a while. She started her legal practice serving as a clerk for President Judge of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. After that, she became an associate lawyer at Dechert, Price & Rhoads in Philadelphia.

Lisa Scottoline began her writing career in 1994 with the publication of her debut work, Everywhere That Mary Went , which went on to become a bestseller. From that time, Scottoline has published over 26 titles, both fiction and non-fiction books, all of which have been featured on the top lists of major publications in the country. In total, Scottolines books amount to over 30 million print copies in the USA alone. Her books have also been published in 35 countries all over the world.

Lisas work has been recognized by many literary organizations in the country. She has won several awards, including the Edgar Award, the Distinguished Author Award from Scranton University, and the Mystery Writers of America Award, among others.
