form a sleep cycle . The cycle moves from light sleep to
deep sleep to REM, or rapid eye movement, sleep. Then
the cycle begins again.
It takes about minutes
for most kids to go
through a sleep cycle.

lightly. Your body
is relaxed. Your
breathing and
heartbeat slow down.

You are sleeping deeply.
Your body is less aware if
it is hot or cold.
