THE AUTHOR
Carter Myers is the Chief Engineer at the Center for Space Transportation and Applied Research (CSTAR) located in Tullahoma, TN. CSTAR has specialized in the commercialization of space transportations systems, as well as laser systems and computer software. Mr. Myers manages the Management Information Systems and is acting facility manager.
Previously, at CSTAR, he was Chief Engineer on the Commercial Experiment Transporter (COMET) program, the world's first truly commercial space system (satellite, launcher, ground operations and recovery system). He also was program manager for a hybrid project and worked on lunar commercial resources and a launch voucher program. Additionally, he has worked on the Space Shuttle and Infrared Night sights.
In addition to facility and information systems management at CSTAR, Carter was a facility manager at Texas Instruments. He managed projects at Arnold Air Force Base that dealt with the building and renovation of rocket test cells and wind tunnels. He has also been heavily involved in the design and renovation of computer facilities.
