Introduction

They say that food is the way to your partners heart With National Italian - photo 4

They say that food is the way to your partners heart. With National Italian Food Day falling on February 13th, the day before Valentines Day, there has never been a better time to say, Lets cook Italian.

A traditional Italian meal consists of lots of courses. Starting with antipasto and primo (appetizers and first courses), secondo (mains), cortona and insalata (sides and salads), and finally, the sweet course (dolce).

The first course on any Italian food menu typically consists of a pasta dish or risotto, while mains include meat and fish to serve alongside sides of veggies. In Italy, salads are served after the main or instead of it and followed by a sweet finale.

The Italian menu is ideal for allowing you to choose various dishes from different categories rather than sticking to only one.

Not sure where to begin? For inspiration, check out these 40 recipes and celebrate National Italian Food Day every day!
