Important Introduction (Read This First)

Way back in 1988 a man named Dr. Alan Francis published a book called Everything Men Know About Women. From the title, reviews and cover it looked like just another pop psychology book, popular at the time. However, when you opened it, the first page was blank. So was the second pagethe third pageand the entire book.

It was a gag gift, absolutely hilarious to the recipient who hadnt heard about it. Dr. Francis sold over a million copies of his blank book, even releasing an updated 25th anniversary edition, that was, presumably, updated with even more blank pages.

Over the years there have been several attempts to duplicate it (as well as outright knockoffs), but nothing ever really captured its humor. The joke was set up by the cover (and overdone genre at the time), with the punch line delivered by the blank pages. Also, having Dr. in front of his name, as well as reviews from known media sources contributed to the joke because the reader was prepared for a serious book, only to be confronted by blank pages, at first thinking it was a mistake, then finally getting the joke.

My name is John Alanis, and since 2004, Ive been in the dating advice for men business, publishing a daily email column all about getting women to approach you first for a date, no matter your looks, age or income, as well as the general art, science, and hilarity of attraction.
