Chapter 1: Easy Ginger Recipes
Honey Jerk Drumsticks
Ingredients
- scallions , chopped
- 2 serrano peppers , stemmed and halved
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp canola oil
- 1 tbsp jamaican jerk seasoning , see appendix
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 8 chicken drumsticks , skinned
Directions
- Get a food processor: Combine in it the scallions, serranoes, lemon juice, honey, oil, jerk seasoning, ginger, and salt. Blend until they become smooth.
- Toss the chicken drumsticks and seasoning mix in a greased slow cooker. Put on the lid and let them cook for 4 h on low or 8 h on high.
- Once the time is up, serve your chicken drumsticks warm.
- Enjoy.

Brussels Sprouts Mongolian
Ingredients
- 2 (10 oz.) containers Brussels sprouts , trimmed and quartered
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp fresh ginger , peeled & grated
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 large onion , halved & sliced
- 2 tbsp water
Directions
- Get a mixing bowl: Whisk in it the soy sauce, grated ginger and sesame oil.
- Place a large pan over medium heat. Heat in it the olive oil. Cook in it the onion for 6 min.
- Turn the heat to high. Stir in the water with brussels sprouts. Put on the lid and let them cook for 6 min.
- Remove the lid and let them cook for an extra 6 min. Turn off the heat and add the ginger mixture.
- Stir them well. Serve your brussels sprouts right away with your favorite toppings.
- Enjoy.
