Life is anadventure for all of us. Where we start does not determine where weend. We may not be able to determine the raw material life providesbut our choices along the way influence our route. Most significantis our choice of mate.

My life beganin Toronto in 1947. Early years were tumultuous as my parentsstruggled hopelessly to build happy and peaceful home life. Thescars left me insecure about my capabilities to build a strongmarriage.

Following highschool, I earned a Bachelor of Theology from Ontario Bible College,Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Trent Universityin Peterborough.

For 32 years,I pastored Canadian Baptist churches in Peterborough, Trenton, PortHope, Oshawa and Scarborough, Ontario. Pastoral ministry involvedall aspects of personal and family care. While pastoring, I tookmany practical ministry and counselling courses to enhance myskills.

Since retiringfrom pastoring, I have served as an Officiant, primarily forweddings. My wedding website, http://brideschoiceofficiant.com ,provides extensive resources to couples planning their wedding.Couples delight in the ceremonies this enables them to craft. Ialso maintain http://www.bridalvows.ca asa means of helping other Officiants with their celebrantservices.

What hasthrilled me most about my life is being happily married since 1971to Diane, a nutrition expert and public school teacher (retired).We have two grown children and three grandchildren. My kids, Andreaand Jeremy, were and are wonderful, with fascinating careers, butIf I had known grandchildren were so much fun, I would have hadthem first!

If you seeDiane and I about town your will find us strolling hand in hand. Welove doing everything together, especially to travel and explorewhite sand beaches. A natural extension of our love of travel is myperiodic guest chaplaincies on cruises ships.
