Preface

Our goal for this book is to offer comprehensive and updated information on the latest developments in endocrine pathology, presented in an easy and intuitive format. We hope that students, residents, fellows, and practicing pathologists and endocrinologists will find it useful for improving their skillset and aiding in the diagnosis of distinct endocrine lesions and tumors.

Diagnostic Pathology: Endocrine, second edition conveys intensive insight on conditions of the pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal gland, neuroendocrine pancreas, and neuroendocrine skin. The classic and newly described inherited tumor syndromes and paraneoplastic syndromes are also presented.

New entities were added to the second edition, including noninvasive follicular neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features (NIFTP), IgG4-related thyroid diseases, DICER1 syndrome, and multiple neoplasia type 4 (MEN4). This new edition is also completely updated according to the new 2017 WHO Classification of Tumors of Endocrine Organs.
