Labossiere said that many women areexperiencing dating frustration and relationship disappointments. With this, he mentioned that one might think there are not any goodmen around anymore, or maybe women might feel discouraged infinding a great relationship in the future. He noted that beingdepressed can cause one to be blinded to the red flags you mayrecognize in a potential mate. Labossiere also stated that he didnot write the book for the intention to bash men; instead, he wantsto help women on how to analyze most men. He says that he stillbelieves that there are wonderful men out there.
Labossiere notedthat this book is meant to help in raising awareness of thepotential damage that is caused by dating wrong men. He mentionedthat he wanted to help women to break free from the negativity andcynical thinking. Labossiere said that he wanted women to be ableto recognize the lies and games so they can avoid itentirely. In one of the chapters,Labossiere shared the story of a girl who went to him for a pieceof advice. The girls name is Cindy. Cindy wanted to ask Labossiereto get clarity regarding the actions of a guy she was dating namedEric.
Cindy shared that shes too confused with Erics mixedsignals. When Cindy and Eric met, she clicked with him quickly. They started dating after; however, after a few months of spendingand getting to know each other, Cindy got curious about the statusof their relationship. She wondered if they were progressing and ifEric also likes her. Cindy thought that it was fine to ask Ericabout the state. Still, then when she asked him about theirrelationship, Eric will always dodge the subject and refused togive Cindy straight answers. Cindy shared that Eric always saysthat hes busy, and they should go with the flow.
Since she reallyliked him, she just brushed it off away and accepted his replies. As time passed by, Eric is still not doing any more about theirrelationship; however, he was doing everything that a boyfriendwould do. Cindy and Eric are doing everything that a couple does.Because of this, Cindy felt that they are already in arelationship, but then Eric doesnt call it official. Cindy becamebothered and didnt know whats the big deal about them being anofficial couple. They went with a flow for over a year. Duringthis entire year, Cindy was not sure about Eric and his feelingsfor her. This causes her anxiety and insecurities.
Also, it madeher questioned herself on every level. Labossiere said that whenCindy asked him for a piece of advice, she told him that she thinksEric likes her; however, he doesnt want to have a formalrelationship. Cindy told Labossiere that she does not want to lethim go because her relationship with her felt good. Cindy said thatshe wants companionship, and Eric is doing enough to make her thinkthat. Cindy said that she would give him more time. Labossierementioned that after a couple of conversations, Cindy felt thatEric was not the guy for her.
After Labossiere and Cindys initialconversation, she found out that Eric was talking and seeinganother woman. Eric entered a relationship with another woman andleft Cindy. Because of this, she was hurt and distraught. Cindyswore off men and build her walls up. Also, because of thatheartbreak, it created a lot of negative energy within her that sheand Labossiere needed to work hard for Cindy to be able to gothrough it. Labossiere shared that Cindy was confused and didntunderstand what went wrong or whats wrong with her for Eric toleave her for another woman.
Cindy said that he acted like aboyfriend to her but doesnt want to be in a committed relationshipwith her; however, he left her to be in a relationship with anotherwoman. Labossiere said that Cindys situation is the perfectexample of the danger of entertaining a guy who doesnt want agirlfriend but acts like your boyfriend. Labossiere explained thatwhen a guy is engaging in a boyfriend behavior towards a girl butdoesnt want to initiate a relationship or give any titles to it,it means the guy doesnt wish to any committed relationship. Nomatter what his action is towards a girl, if he doesnt acknowledgeit as an official relationship, then he is not obligated to you.Labossiere clarified that when a man is in a formal relationship, aman knows theres a higher level of commitment and obligationrequired. Labossiere added that a serious and committedrelationship is something that a man must approach with a moremature and a more genuine attitude. Labossiere also explainedthat a man might show affection or interest in a woman and act as aboyfriend would typically do.
