I have been fortunate to have lived many inmany wonderful places, and at the top of that list is London. Ifell in love with the city the first day I arrived. Since thattime, I have traveled all over the globe. And guess what? London isstill my favorite city.

For one thing, English is the nationallanguage so there are no language barriers. It is easy to convertthe currency from dollar to pound. Furthermore and moreimportantly, London has so much to offer. It is a big city withdozens of attractions, a zillion dining options, too many shoppingdistricts to count, lodging ranging from budget to AAA FiveDiamond, and more!

It is also one of the most expensive citiesin the world. Statistics Ive see put the average cost at $100 aday for an adult tourist. Yikes! That adds up quickly. The reasonis that can be a challenge to eat and sleep cheap and see and doall that London offers on a budget. But heres what you need toknow. It can be done. If you know what youre doing, you canhave the best time in Londonand do it on a budget.

In fact, there is so much free stuff that Ihave broken it down into categories for your convenience. Despite being one of the biggest cities inthe world and a couple of recent terrorist attacks, London remainsone of the safest cities in the world. And thanks to its immensetransportation (rail/tube/bus) system, it is easy to navigate.

Another reason to go now is that the dollaris finally holding its own against the English pound for the firsttime since 2012. Now is the time to get the most bang for the buck.There are some great deals being offered on tour packages,airfares, and accommodations. London is the third largest and mostinfluential city in the world, just behind New York and Tokyo. Witha population of around ten million, it is Europe's largest city. It is illegal to die in the Palace ofWestminster.

The world's oldest public zoo opened inLondon in 1828.

The tallest building in the UK is The Shardat 1,016 feet (87 floors) and the second tallest is One CanadaSquare, known as the Canary Wharf Tower, is 235 meters high (nearly800 feet with 50 floors).

It is also known asthe City, and Square Mile and the business and financial centerof the United Kingdom. The second ancient city is the City ofWestminster, where Parliament and the majority of the governmentoffices are located. The two cities combined are known as GreaterLondon. London is the biggest city in Britain and Europe. It islocated in the southeast area of England. More than 300 languagesare spoken in London. Four UNESCO World Heritage Sites are locatedhere: Maritime Greenwich, Westminster Palace, the Tower of Londonand Kew's Royal Botanic Gardens. London is also the greenest majorcity in the world, with 40 percent of its area devoted to parks andgreen space.
