Hi there! If you are a new player, playing Minecraft can get frustrating after playing it for a few days. Why? When you start playing Minecraft, you will be forced to discover the world. You play the role of an adventuring caveman.
At first, you will worry about your players wellbeing. You need to make sure that your health will not drop to zero, and that the player is not hungry. You will learn to adapt to the new environment and discover some neat stuff to make your players life easier.
However, a few days in the world will pass, and discovering something new will become a rare occurrence. Unlike before, you will become stuck inside your comfort zone. Exploration will be the last thing you will do. After all, the danger of being killed and your items getting dropped is making you scared to go out and wander.
Then the following days will be much slower than before. Instead of playing and enjoying, you will be stuck in doing menial tasks of keeping your player alive as if you are living in the real world. And the game becomes boring and you would rather live in the real world than in the game.
Wait. Minecraft does not aim to make you work. It aims to entertain. So why does it feel like working at some point? That would be because you have not discovered enough. At that state, you are current doing everything inefficiently. Getting enough food that will last you a few days takes you a full day. That is inefficient. Truth be told, it must only take you an hour or two in Minecraft to produce food that will last you a week or a month in the game if you are going to be inefficient.
This book will provide you tips and tricks that will make you become an efficient player. The book promises to provide you with 50 or more tricks that will be useful in your game. These tips will lessen the burden of having to work in Minecraft, and provide you with enjoyment.
Together with the tips, some fun facts will be included. Also, take note that there are a vast number of tips and tricks in Minecraft. And this book is not enough to cover them all. So, as you learn the ones listed here, you will surely learn a few tricks yourself.
The tips on this book will be separated according to their usefulness. After reading this book, you will learn how to:
Fish, farm, and hunt faster and better
Kill and protect yourself against mobs
Build a better and sturdier base and other structures
Survive longer and explore safely
Know how to use your weapons, tools, and items efficiently
Take note: some of the tips might not work depending on the version of Minecraft you are using. Due to updates, some of the tips might not work. On the other hand, some newer tips were not included to the fact that a lot of players and casual gamers are still using older versions of Minecraft. For example, tips about horses and carpets were not included since they are only available on newer Minecraft versions.
FISHING, FARMING, AND HUNTING TRICKS
Before you do anything in the world, you should know how to take care of the primary need of your player: food. Without it, you will just die due to starvation. However, farming for food is not that simple. You will need to learn how to hunt animals, plant seeds, and fish.
And as mentioned before, just knowing how to do it yourself might make you practice inefficient methods that will make your game unenjoyably boring. Below are some tricks to will allow you to save time, which you can use to do other things in Minecraft.
1. Fishing while Raining Assure Greater Yields
Fishing is the cheapest and fastest way to get food in Minecraft. Fortunately, there is a way to let you get more fish - and that is to fish when its raining.
2. Fish Whenever You Can
Aside from getting unlimited food, fishing provides other bonuses. For one, fishing can make you level up, which is important when you start enchanting items. On the other hand, the latest update allows you to get treasures while fishing.
3. Blocks Above the Fishing Rod Will Decrease Chances of Getting Fish
Just like in real life, fishes are attracted to light. Minecrafts fishes behave like that, too. Because of that, if you block the area where you are fishing away from sunlight, the chances of you catching fishes will significantly decrease.
4. Use Your Fishing Rod to Drag Mobs towards You
A neat trick that can help you farm mobs faster is to use a fishing rod. Just aim for the mob and use it. Once the sinker hits them, they will be dragged toward you. However, it is not recommended to use this trick to creepers and poisonous spiders.
5. Baby Mobs Will Always Follow Their Parents
Whenever you breed a couple of farm animals or passive mobs, a baby of its kind will be born. That baby will always follow its parents. However, if the baby was born using eggs, they will follow the nearest adult of its kind.
6. Light Attracts Animal Mobs
You can use light to make it easier for you to hunt and herd during nighttime. Naturally, light attracts critters. You can use this to your advantage to kill them for food without chasing them as they wonder aimlessly. On the other hand, if you keep them in an enclosed space, you can use torches or other sources of light to keep them on one spot.
7. Water Can Hydrate Soil Blocks that are Four Blocks Away
Farming wheat is valuable during the early stages of your game. It will provide you with bread and it can allow you to breed your farm animals. Unfortunately, farming is one of the most boring tasks you will do in Minecraft. To get through this, it is better to create an efficient farm. In order to create one, you must make sure that a block of water can hydrate 5 x 5 blocks of soil the water block should be at the center. That also means that you can create a medium farm that only uses two blocks of water and hydrate 48 blocks of soil and harvest 48 pieces of wheat.
