Introduction
Whether you have fresh or frozen fruit, sorbets are a great way to enjoy a little sweetness in your life while taking advantage of the fruits around you. Whether its a Honey Tangerine or a Lemon Sorbet, Im sure youll enjoy especially on those warmer days! These recipes are designed to tantalize your taste buds and give you something to enjoy.
These recipes will call for frozen fruits so you can enjoy your sorbets immediately, so you can freeze fresh fruits ahead of time or buy frozen fruit packs. You can also use fresh fruits and freeze the mixture for about 2 - 4 hours after making, so it sets.
Simple Sugar Syrup
This sugar syrup is easy to make and adds a nice sweetness to sorbets. Of course if you dont want to use sugar, you can replace this mixture with honey or ditch it all together and rely on the natural sweetness of the fruits.
Ingredients:
- 1 cups of sugar
- 3 cups of water
Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil over the high heat.
2. Add sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
3. Once dissolved, take off the heat and allow to cool before use.
Cantaloupe Melon Sorbet
These watery summer fruits make delicious sorbets and are quite refreshing!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of cantaloupe, chopped
- 1 cup of watermelon, chopped
- cup of sugar syrup
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours.
Cherry Sorbet
This sorbet has a nice sweetness and sour flavour punch because of the lemon juice.
Ingredients:
- cup of frozen lemonade concentrate, mixed
- 2 cups of frozen maraschino cherries
- cup of sugar syrup
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Enjoy immediately or pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours.
Lemon Sorbet
Its like frozen lemonade in a bowl! Super refreshing and a great summer treat.
Ingredients:
- cup of fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons of lemon zest
- 1 cups of water
- cup of sugar syrup
- cup of ice
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Enjoy immediately or pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours.
Grapefruit Sorbet
If youre a grapefruit lover this is for you, even if you arent its very likely youll enjoy it. A little but of sour, a little bit of bitter and a little bit of sweetness perfect combo.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of fresh grapefruit juice
- 2 teaspoons of mint leaves, finely chopped
- 2 cups of water
- cup of sugar syrup
- cup of ice
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Enjoy immediately or pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours
Pineapple Sorbet
This sorbet has a nice balance of sweetness and slight acidity.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of frozen pineapple chunks
- cup of sugar syrup
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Enjoy immediately or pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours
Watermelon Mint Sorbet
This is a super refreshing combo. This sorbet has a cooling effect because of the mint as well as super refreshing flavour of melons.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of frozen seedless watermelons chunks
- 2 teaspoons of mint leaves, finely chopped
- cup of sugar syrup
Instructions:
1. Combine ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Enjoy immediately or pour into a freezer container and freeze for about 2 hours
Raspberry Sorbet
Whether made with fresh or frozen raspberries this sorbet is super delicious. A little tartness pairs very well with the sweet berry flavour.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups of frozen raspberries
- 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of lemon zest
- cup of sugar syrup
